Dr. James N. Kufdakis is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with more than 40 years of experience delivering comprehensive care across inpatient, outpatient, and community health settings. He now brings his deep clinical expertise and commitment to patient-centered medicine to CareMedica Florida, where he focuses on providing attentive, individualized, and compassionate primary care.
Dr. Kufdakis earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri, before completing his medical degree at Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico. He went on to complete his internship and residency through the University of Illinois in Chicago (Cook County), gaining broad, hands-on clinical training that shaped his approach to whole-person care.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Kufdakis has served in multiple leadership roles, including Medical Director positions in correctional facilities, nursing homes, and clinics affiliated with Indian Health Services and the Cherokee Nation. He also holds extensive experience within the Veterans Affairs healthcare system in both Oklahoma and Florida, where he provided care to military veterans with dedication and respect. After retiring from government medical practice in 2021, he transitioned back into private practice, continuing his lifelong commitment to high-quality primary care.
Born to first-generation Greek immigrant parents, Dr. Kufdakis was inspired from an early age by his father—a physician who practiced medicine in the United States for more than 50 years. Observing that example ignited his passion for service, clinical excellence, and compassionate care.
At CareMedica Florida, Dr. Kufdakis is devoted to building strong, trusting relationships with his patients. He prioritizes clear communication, thorough evaluation, and personalized treatment plans that align with each patient’s unique health needs.
Outside the office, Dr. Kufdakis enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, volunteering within his community, and staying active. His interests include martial arts, soccer, football, and baseball. He is fluent in English, Greek, and Spanish.
